What this circular is about

Karnataka RERA has invoked the Force Majeure provisions under Section 6 read with Section 7(3) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, following the advisory issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in view of the prevailing West Asia situation.

Eligible registered real estate projects in Karnataka have been granted an extension of four months to their registration and corresponding project completion timelines. The extension applies to projects whose original, revised or extended completion date falls on or after 28 February 2026, subject to the conditions specified in the Order.

Four-month extension

The registration and corresponding project completion timelines of eligible registered real estate projects in Karnataka are extended by four months.

Projects covered

The extension applies where the project’s original completion date, revised completion date or extended completion date falls on or after 28 February 2026.












    Specific exclusion

    However, projects registered on or after 1 August 2026 are expressly excluded from the four-month extension.

    No separate application required

    For projects covered under the Order, promoters are not required to submit separate individual applications seeking the extension.

    No fee for the extension

    There is no requirement to pay any fee solely for the four-month extension granted under the Order.

    The Order comes into force with immediate effect.
